Providing Support to University Teachers in Internationalized Programmes

University of Groningen

This summer school provides comprehensive support for the educational professionals who coach or train university teachers and lecturers in internationalized programmes.

Internationalization of the curriculum has become common in higher education, and as a result many universities are experiencing an increasing diversity of learners. In Europe, this trend is facilitated by an increasing use of English Medium Instruction across many programmes and disciplines. In this context, university teaching staff and programme directors need to master a set of skills and competences in addition to the subject knowledge in their areas of expertise.

What does this mean for educational developers - the key university staff members who support university teaching staff in the effective delivery of these internationalized curricula in universities across Europe?

This summer school consists of five one-day modules that provide educational developers with the means to support university teachers working with diverse groups of students in international programmes, very often taught through English (English medium instruction).
