Global Perspective on Health and Welfare

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and understanding of the global situation related to health and welfare. The course includes elements such as:

  • UN Sustainable Development Goals in relation to health and welfare
  • Cultural aspects related to health and welfare
  • Impact of common diseases/disabilities in diverse cultural contexts from different professional perspective and from a public health perspective
  • Complexity and impact of social determinants of health in different countries • International Classification on Functioning Disability and Health (ICF)
  • Community development and its relevance to ensure quality and safety with organizations in a global health context
  • Awareness of facilitators and barriers for implementing human rights
  • Contextual factors and appropriate scientific research methods when working in diverse contexts

You will receive information about the accommodation after you have been admitted to the Summer School. The accommodation cost is 4000 SEK approx. per month.

Entry requirements:
- 30 credits first cycle courses in any educational area.
- Fluency in English equivalent to at least 575 (paper based test) or 90 (internet test) TOEFL score (or equivalentexternal link, opens in new window).
