Kyoto Study Program: from Anime to Zen is a non-degree 2-week program offering students an excellent introduction to Japanese society and culture, especially for those who are thinking to study long term in Japan in the near future. The curriculum is well balanced, and students will investigate diverse aspects of Japanese society and culture while staying in Kyoto, a cultural center rich in history. All classes will be taught in English by renowned subject specialists, from among the dozens of universities and colleges in Kyoto. In addition to the courses offered, there are a number of field trips, campus visits and special events, including interaction with local students. Kyoto is recognized as not only a touristic city but also a major student cities in Japan, with 50 universities and colleges in and around, and 147,000 students accounting for 10% of the city’s total population. According to the “QS Best Student Cities 2017”, Kyoto has jumped to 17th position, climbing 17 places from the 2015, indicating its great desirability as a learning environment!
